Hello! Just a note to tell you that your step platform is great. We were thinking of selling our 23' Eliminator Daytona because we could not stop on hot days and go swimming in the middle of the lakes. We always had to go to shore. We have a lot of weeds in the shallow waters by shore so swimming is not good there. The deep water has no weeds. Now we can jump out and get right back in. You saved my boat from being sold! Thanks again for a great product.

I'd like to thank you guys for making such a great anchor. I received it Friday just about a week after I ordered, just in time
for the weekend. Previously I have had trouble anchoring in some of the areas with a hard sandy bottom with a danfourth fluke style
anchor. Not anymore, the box anchor works great. I used it 6 or so times in the past two days and it grabbed the first time every time.
Thanks again, you guys have a simple but great design. I've already recommended it to quite a few people. Keep it up!

Regards,
Eric Theberge

To the Owners of Slide Anchor:

My name is Thad Briggs owner of Thad's Tackle Shop in Olney, Montana. I recently tried your 25# anchor on 17 feet Trackor. I was shocked at how the anchor worked in 4 foot swawls. It hooked up awesome. We lost power to our bow mount motor, so we had to anchor to fish for walleye in a tournament on Fresno Reservoir (Havre, Montana).

The second tournament we were in we needed the anchor again. This time the wind was gusting 30-40 mph creating real choppy waters. We caught fish, and the boat stayed using the anchor. We placed 30th out of 94 teams. If we didn't have your anchor we wouldn't have been able to fish. Thank you for a great product. We probably could have used your lighter model. Can't wait to try your smaller anchor on my new Lund 2025.

Thank you,
Thad Briggs

The following letter was brought to us at the Anaheim Boat Show in April 2006 by the owner of a bent shore spike. He brought us back the spike, the letter, and a very big "thanks". Ryan Dvorak, owner of Slide Anchor, gave him a new shore spike, free of charge of course. [Click here to see the original letter.]

To Whom It May Concern,

My family was on a Lake Powell houseboat vacation during the first week of August 2004. One afternoon, we encountered one of Lake Powell's infamous storms. The stern of our 24' deckboat was tied to the stern of the houseboat and our bow was secured to a large (38") Slide Anchor Shore Spike that was pounded about 10" deep into the sandstone rock.

During the storm, we experienced winds like we had never seen on a lake. The eyebolts holding the houseboat mooring lines popped out of the sandstone rock and had to be reset. This meant our boat lines, toed off to the Shore Spike and the houseboat, were securing everything to the shore. With the wind pushing our boat and the houseboat, the Shore Spike bent to an approximate 45 degree angle but remained in place.

We had used the Shore Spike many times for securing to sandy beaches in considerably better conditions. It had held up under light winds and some current, but we never considered using it under the extreme conditions we found at Lake Powell.

I purchased another Shore Spike as soon as I could, and continue to use it every time we go out. I would highly recommend a Shore Spike to any recreational boater wanting to secure any type of watercraft to a shoreline.

Thank you,

I have to tell you that we used the first set of anchors on our last trip. We had a storm and some strong winds on Mead. During this type of weather with the re-bar stakes we were always retying and pounding the stakes. The slide anchors gave about 1/2 an inch. We did not retie but re-adjusted the stakes once. You have a great product.

I just wanted to take a moment to compliment you on your Box Anchor. I bought one from you a few years ago for my 1978 Ski Nautique. I go up to Buckskin Campground on the Colorado on the Parker Strip. We make the annual trip with a large group of Firemen. This last trip there were 5 boats including my own. We anchor right offshore and depending on how much water they are letting out of the Dam at any given time, not only is the speed of the current widely variable but the depth of the water and as a result the 'angle of attack' on the anchor line changes. The bottom can consist year to year of sand, boulders of heavy growths of sea grass or duck weed. Our group of intrepid firefighters (traditionally known as 'cheap') use a wide variety of anchors from a standard Danforth to a huge hunk of concrete that 'Mongo' walks out as far as he can carry it. Once again I arrived, backed the boat down the ramp, grabbed my Box Anchor and walked it out a respectable distance, dropped it, walked back and gave it a tug, left it marked by my buoy, went back and launched the boat, drove it over and hooked to the anchor, waded ashore and drove away the truck/trailer while those knuckleheads sat on the beach drinking, amazed at how easy that was. For the entire week my Box Anchor held it's set despite the current/depth changes or the Monsoon that swept through off the Desert one afternoon accompanied by a beautiful lightning storm that dared us to try to pull the boats out. Needless to say the other anchors (except Mongo's concrete block) pulled loose or dragged the bottom and had to be reset. When it was time to go I walked out and stood over the Box anchor and reeled it in with ease. In the bag it went and it is ready for the next trip. Someday if you run a special I might be able to sell 4 of the small anchors to my 'cheap' Brother Firefighters.

Sincerely, Chief Mac

I already have two of your Box Anchors (medium size) on my other boats (two Fountain Offshores) and have found them to be the best anchors I have ever used. I have just ordered a new Fountain 48 Express Cruiser for delivery on March 15th and my old anchors will probably be too small. I would like to order one of your largest Box Anchors. Would you kindly let me know where your closest dealer is to London, Ontario, Canada?

Thank You,

Chris Scarff
